About Gautam

GautamMy name is Gautam Singh Gujral. I work for Credit Suisse in New York and live with my wife and kids in New Jersey. I was born in India, not too far from Nepal. First time I ever saw Mount Everest was as a little kid from a place in India called Tiger Point (I didn’t see any tigers though). I learned to use a computer when I was sixteen years old and back then if you wanted your computer to do anything fun or remotely useful you had to program it yourself. They are a lot better now. Like most people, I did not think that I would ever climb out of bed and go on a trip to the base camp of Mount Everest. I have climbed some mountains near Colorado College (the college I attended) and always thought it was fun but 19,000 feet? There is a man at work whose name I won’t mention here who got me into going on this trip, and he says that I will thank him for it when it is over. Being a lawyer, I will let the evidence decide whether he is right and I’ll let you know when I get back. In the meantime, keep visiting this site and find out how the trip is going. Being a banker, I hope you will keep giving to Comp2Kids as you follow my journey.

Thanks again!
